Clara Sock (4-ply) is composed of 80% Merino (21 micron) and 20% Nylon. The Merino wool is grown on farms in the South Island of New Zealand, then super wash treated, and finally spun as a four fold fingering weight (4-ply) sock yarn at Wild Earth Yarns in Christchurch (NZ).
It is strong and wonderfully soft, great for socks, accessories and garments. Because it is super wash treated it takes up the natural dyes more intensely than the untreated yarns so the colours in this yarn are beautiful and bold, hence the name Clara (bright and beautiful).
This yarn is machine washable. (Even so, I still wash my hand knits by hand and dry flat out of direct sunlight for best longevity.)
